The Shiva Temples Tour will take you the ancient Shiva temples of south India, these Shiva temples are dedicated to Lord Shiva and the idol of Shiva is representing the five natural elements, air, earth, ether (sky), fire, and water. These five natural formed as Panchbhuts in Hindu religion, these temples are worshipped as Panchbhut sthalas.  This is a religious tour, which takes you to the divine places.

Day 1: Arrival at Chennai airport

Greeting and assistance then transfer to hotel.

Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 2: Chennai – Chittoor – Chennai

Today morning, you will be taken to Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh to visit the Kalahasteeswara Temple.

Temple’s main idol is the Vayu (air) Lingam, one of the five natural elements.

Return back to Chennai.

Overnight stay in Chennai.

Day 3: Chennai – Kanchipuram – TiruvannamalaiPondicherry

Today after the breakfast, you will be taken to Kanchipuram to visit the Ekambareswarar Temple, representing the earth; Shiva is worshipped as Prithvi lingam here.

After the lunch, you will be taken to the Tiruvannamalai to visit the Annamalaiyar Temple, the presiding deity of Lord Shiva worshipped as Agni (fire) Lingam.

After visiting the Tiruvannamalai, you will be taken to Pondicherry for 115 kms.

Overnight stay in Pondicherry.

Day 4: Pondicherry – Chidambaram – Trichy

Today, early morning you will be taken to the Chidambaram Temple to witness the Aarti ceremony at the dawn, the deity of Lord presides here is Thillai Koothan that means, the Lord of Dance, Nataraj, the deity formed as a Bhratnatayam posture, and the main idol is worshipped as ether (sky).

Later, you will be taken to Trichy for 170 kms.

Overnight stay in Trichy.

Day 5: Trichy – Thiruvanaikoil – Madurai

Today early morning you will be taken to Thiruvanaikoil to visit the Jambukeswarar Temple, the presiding deities of the temple is Lord Shiva and Goddess Sri Akilandeswari, and represents Neer (water).

Later, you will be taken to Madurai.

Overnight stay in Madurai.

Day 6: Madurai – Rameswaram – Madurai

Today you will be taken to Rameswaram for 168 kms, to visit the Ramanathaswamy Temple.

Return back to Madurai.

The entire day is at leisure.

Day 7: Madurai sightseeing

Today morning after the breakfast, you will be taken to the Meenakshi Temple.
